The film Raman Raghav 2.0 is based on the notorious serial killer Raman Raghav, who operated in Mumbai during the late 1960s. He used a regular steel rod to reduce human faces to severed heads and broken skulls. He was later captured by the Mumbai police and later confessed the crimes he had committed.

Raghav confessed to have committed 41 murders. He was sentenced to death by the Bombay High Court, but it was later changed to life imprisonment after his defense pleaded that he was “mentally incapable of making conscious decisions hence did not know that his acts were unlawful.”

Raman Raghav 2.0 Movie Review By NDTV

In Raman Raghav 2.0, he gives the go-by to the lawman versus law-breaker binary, the normative pivot of crime dramas. The film zeroes in on a psychopath’s chilling battle of wits, and nerves, with a sleep-deprived, drug-dependent cop in the seedy back alleys of present-day Mumbai. The exercise yields a gripping, visceral genre film that intermittently strays into fuzziness only to lift itself up forcefully enough not to lose momentum. Full Review

Raman Raghav 2.0 Movie Review By Koimoi

What’s Good: Nawazuddin’s resounding performance and the director’s obsessive exploration of the mind of a serial killer.

What’s Bad: The film lacks a cohesive storyline to keep you engaged throughout the duration. Full Review

Raman Raghav 2.0 Movie Review By Bollywood Life

There is ample scope for both Nawaz and Vicky to excel in their performances. Nawaz is his usual good, his eyes and eerie smile will spook the day lights out of you. The ease and candour with which he carries out these killings is remarkable. His scenes with his sister will have you on the edge of your seat. Vicky matches Nawaz’s madness with his act. His breakdown scene with his father is superb. Here’s an actor who doesn’t hold back and is hungry for roles like these. I also liked the club thumping background score that gives the film a psychedelic feel. Full Review
