Ducks are mostly aquatic birds, mostly smaller than the swans and geese, and may be found in both fresh water and sea water. Here is a list of most beautiful ducks in the world.
The ducks are divided among several subfamilies in the family Anatidae; they do not represent a monophyletic group but a form taxon, since swans and geese are not considered ducks.

The long-tailed duck is medium-sized and prefers to live on the coast. It feeds on sea water mollusks, crustaceans and some small fish. Even though they feed close to the surface, they are capable of diving to depths of 60 m (200 ft).

The ruddy duck is found in North America and in parts of South America, one of the stiff-tailed ducks. Ruddy Ducks are the only ducks in which males molt in the spring to reveal a beautiful plumage for attracting a mate.

The males have a glossy green head and different shades of gray on their bodies while the females have a mainly brown-speckled plumage. The Mallards is believed to be the ancestor of most ducks.

Mandarins are one of the few duck species that are not hunted, mainly because they taste awful. They are also one of the most colorful ducks in the world. Unlike many ducks the Mandarin prefers to nest in trees.
10. Baikal Teal
The Baikal Teal is a migrating duck that lives in the forests of eastern Siberia. The male is very colorful with a striking green, yellow and black head-pattern and a white vertical line at the side of the breast.
11. Hooded Merganser
The Hooded Merganser is a small duck that lives in the swamps and wooded ponds in the northern part of the United States and southern Canada. There are also a few species in captivity in Europe with the odd few that have escaped to the wild.

The Spectacled Eider has facial feathers that extend down to the nostrils. The males have striking colors, with a pale green head, bright orange bill and the white spectacle-like patches around the eyes.
