India : When it comes to upgrading its train service, India goes all out. Not only is the country prepping for its first high-speed railway, but the new bullet train will also travel underwater.
India’s first bullet train that will run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad has a new development to boast about – it will cover a stretch of 21 km under the sea!
Technology and intelligence is just taking a leap step in India. An underwater new train has been introduced that would give a whole new experience to travellers in the country. This under water bullet train would be running between Mumbai to Ahemdabad at a speed of 350 kmph. Passengers will be thrilled during this underwater ride in the first ever bullet train of the country.
The bullet train will run on an elevated track for most part of the journey but a small stretch will be under water starting after the Thane Creek, going towards Virar.
Well, according to Railway Ministry there would be a 508 kms railway track and out of the total, around 21 kms track would be under the sea in a tunnel.
The ministry further informed that this project would cost around Rs. 97363 crores with more than 80% of the funding from Japan.
Let us also tell you that the train is expected to cover the entire distance from Mumbai to Ahemdabad in just 2 hours.
Well, now would even prefer travelling through plains and ordinary trains when you have this super-fast bullet train and that too under water.
