Fitbit launches Blaze fitness smartwatch in India at Rs 19,999

Fitbit, a brand known for its smart health bands has launched another fitness device – Fitbit Blaze in India. Fitbit Blaze is a smartwatch that comes with fitness tracking features and customisable textured rubber bands, leather bands, and metal bracelet. It was first showcased in CES 2016 and will be exclusively available on Amazon India in Black, Blue and Plum colour options at a price of Rs 19,999. While we are yet to see these in real but the Plum looks like an interesting colour option.

The Fitbit Blaze apart from interacting with Fitbit’s own fitness app, can push calendar appointments, calls, and texts onto your wrists. You can then interact with the notification by touching on the display of the smartwatch.

The screen is a full-colour display, with a soft appearance. You can navigate menus with the push buttons on the frame or use the touchscreen itself. Workouts and sleep are automatically detected and the heart rate monitor functions continuously, minimising the number of times you have to fiddle with it when you’re merely doing daily activities. The Blaze does need your phone to get GPS data, but this helps with the multi-day battery life that Fitbit believes is crucial for a product like this.

The colour touchscreen of Blaze can flaunt various clock faces and the watch is equipped with a number of features including steps counter, automatic exercise recognition, distance counter, calories counter and can also evaluate your sleep pattern. The smartwatch also features a multi-sport tracking mode that lets you track your cardio, cross training exercise, running, biking activities, and more. The built-in heart rate monitor continuously tracks your heart rate.

It can be synced wirelessly with the smartphone or computer and when connected with your smartphone.
