Hike Messenger for Windows Phone 8.1 gets an update
Hike, the home-grown messaging platform, has rolled out an update for phones on the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system that bring new user interface and file sharing to the app.
"Windows is our 2nd largest platform by users and they have been eagerly waiting for this update, which is the biggest we have ever released for Windows, and we are excited to finally get it in their hands," Kavin Bharti Mittal, CEO and founder of hike messenger, said.
The new user interface makes navigating simpler, the company claims, and has 10 new exciting chat themes.

The feature, initially available for Android users only, allows users to share files and attachments that are up to 100MB in size. Now, users can send all formats -- PDF, ZIP, APK, MP3, audio, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint -- and any number of files through Hike.

The update allows the user to form large groups of up to 500 members on hike and manage these groups better by having multiple administrators in each group.

Launched globally on December 12 in 2012, hike messenger crossed 70 million users as of September 2015.

Hike, which claims to be the second-largest free messaging app in the country, is available globally on iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry (BB10, S40, S60).
